Watched RWT's videos YEARS ago, unsubbed at some point as bikes kinda went on a hiatus. Two weeks ago I bought an 890 Adventure R and what do you know, RWT has gone offroad as well! What a pleasant surprise. Nice to be back on the subscriber list!

Yep Teknik is the go, they know what they’re talking about, I weigh 99 kilos, they put in a heavier duty rear spring, did a revalue and progressive springs to the front. The bike was good initially, now it’s even better, and it didn’t cost a fortune, they will set up the bike to your requirements and give great advice and service, coming off a KTM 1190 R, this T7 is a keeper

I run in rally mode with the throttle set to off-road mode. Much better for tighter, more technical stuff. The rally throttle is pure Dakar - wide open high speed riding.

If we had tracks and weather like that in the UK I'd be out on the bike every day. Also I upgraded from an MT-07 to a Gen2 1290 Super Duke last year and while technically the Super Duke is better in every way the MT is significantly easier to ride, the softer suspension is nice around town and you don't have to worry about it being stolen as much. I'm still contemplating selling the Super Duke and going back to an MT-07.

I wish you made a review on your extended experience with the wr250r what you like and what you don't. Places you have not been able to get to becasue it isnt an enduro or whatever. It really would help us new bikers here trying to buy the first bike

I like using the Rally mode for the adjustable traction control (on the fly) but i always put the throttle back to Street. Heaps easier to ride off road.

Nice comparison, good to hear the chatter of you both on each others bikes. I'm considering both of these bikes, but only ridden the 890 r on the road & a very brief off-road section & no T700s in sight in the dealers. On my brief test I found the 890 a little 'clunky' but I'm told thats the difference between Japanese & European bikes I also found it very tall for my 29" inseam! Keep them coming ..
