NASA Administrator Tours Goddard Testing Facilities

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden visited the agency's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., Oct. 22 on his first post-government shutdown field center visit. He was joined by Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland, who is Chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and NASA's Associate Administrator for the Science Mission Directorate John Grunsfeld for a tour of the integration and testing facilities for two of NASA's upcoming missions: the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission and Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) mission. Bolden also took questions from the media.

Advancing human space flight and exploration is all about advancing the human species and trying to prolong our existence in the universe we live in. So really, NASA's work belongs to humankind.
