There are no plastering techniques used!
The cement fell off because there's no bonding agent applied beforehand. So, all this shows is a rookie mistake made while parging cement. That's not even a trowel. That's a plastic float used in floating acrylic finishes. Cement parging methods are easily learned by anyone. Plastering techniques take many years to master. I highly doubt that using a pointing trowel to apply cement to a wall is anything near plastering. You have to earn the term plasterer, this hasn't happened yet?

That’s an excellent idea once the plaster drys you can put an inlay window or fashion a small stain glass window would really look cracking.
