I've worked in both retail and B2B sales for years before I got into any other job and I can absolutely vouch that having worked in sales was extremely valuable. Being in sales taught me life lessons on how to be able to talk to "strangers, " and deal with rejection, while knowing how to counter objections. With those skills, you can deal with life, relationships and so much more. Once you learn how to deal with all the challenging personalities, you become more comfortable, and an expert on dealing with the many different personalities and truly learn that everyone in this world will have different faces, but the personalities are the same, and that makes it easier to deal with, counter, accept and move on.

Couldn't pay me to work for Yelp. Go to their job listing section, over 10 pages of executive positions. They can't keep or get professionals. Can you really trust a company that can't get or keep pros? That's a hard pass for me.
