Originally thought I’d have to go with hinds for her fronts because her hoof is more oval than round. Bought size 2 hinds and size 2 fronts. Cali is a registered solid paint.

Left the fitting clips on and removed all the others. I was able to fit it and put it down to see what I was dealing with without nailing. Very nice feature! As I mention in the video I ended up liking the fit on the 2 fronts. So the 2 hinds went on her rears. Worked out just fine!

Overall application is easy. No pounding steel to get the shape you need. Saves on the elbows and hand work. I scored the excess I needed to trim off the heels. Had my husband hold the shoe while I used my nail nippers to trim. (Take small bites. It’s easier) then I used my grinder to smooth where the clips were and to smooth where I trimmed. Then nail them on. I used size 5 city heads. Then I rasped the medial and lateral walls that had overhang after clinching. And Viola!

A much easier process in my opinion!

Then, today took her to the arena and ran figure 8’s on the barrel pattern. She felt good! But before that, my warm up I had been experiencing her not really wanting to canter. She would quit on me. But this warm up she was strong, felt like she was reaching and never slowed up or quit!

Next weekend KD gets size 3 Costins on the front. She’s Foundation bred .25 horse & probably about 1150 lbs. she’s a beast!

So far I’m liking these shoes. I hope I get two resets out of them.

More to come!!!!
