I love when they make interesting themes like this and I prefer the public domain stuff to the licensed sets. If I remember correctly, the Shakespeare deck was one of the winners of the Fan created decks contest they had a few years ago.

When a new set comes out, everyone (rightly) gets excited about the cards, but often the work to make a thematic map gets overlooked. It's easy to reduce an Unmatched map to circles and lines, but when you start looking at a setting like this one - or Sun's Origin or some others - with an eye toward why certain spots are in certain regions and why they are or are not adjacent, it really helps drive the theme home.
Like a lot of people when I first heard about this set and its "iambic pentameter mechanism", I had my doubts. Now I'm looking forward to it. Thanks!

Absolutely love that they made this, specifically because it felt like such a departure in theme. Sun's Origin and this show Restoration Games are going to continue taking this system in new and different directions. They've already demonstrated the ability to create premium feeling packages with gameplay that often exceeds my anticipated interest based on theme.

Some people also thought bird watching was scraping the bottom of the barrel for themes. People are funny.

The different horror arts in shakespeare deck all map to the other characters in the set. 3 ingredients for witches, 1 for hamlet and 1 for titania

You are playing Hamlet in co op correctly. The UMA rulebook says all Villain cards are versatile cards

"The main gimmick is iambic pentameter"

Well, they nailed the theme for sure :)

I love that the iambic count is literally the syllable count of the card’s name (whether or not it’s iambic, but I’ll let that slide). So you can dramatically read out the line as you play the last card. “Deceive, revise. My kingdom for a horse!” “Horror! Horror! Horror! Horror! Horror!” (Attack 9, then deal 5 damage!)

'Love how Zee worked the Marlowe reference in there at the end... ;-)

I love this theme. I have my current sets very neatly stored in a couple of boxes, so another one would mess it all up -- but this one tempts me.

I'm totally going to find out what happens when Shakespeare and his troupe take the stage to defend their beloved Globe theatre from a hungry T-Rex.

While we’re dipping into public domain, I’m ready for the Winnie the Pooh set.

I love this theme! The interesting characters and mixing them all up against each other is the best part of the series IMO

Did they fix the health dials? The last few releases had terribly loose dials due to the button.

Was on the fence, but I’m ready to hop now.

I’m getting this set eventually but I can’t wait to have Bullseye vs Daredevil on that theater map. It seems like it’ll be fun.

I love that they cared enough to throw in iambic pentameter. That's really cool.

I'm still waiting for the game to come full circle back to Star Wars before I get into this. I still love my Epic Duels and would love to see Yoda v. Emperor in this newer system!

Hamlet can't be that dangerous, he's holding his sword upside down on the box art :))
