There used to be a Joan Didion documentary on Netflix that I loved. She speaks at length on some of her writings on there so because of that I read “The Year of Magical Thinking” with her voice in my head. It seemed to lighten the emotional load for me then as I already knew what the story was about. Her prose is wonderful tho. Love her work

Though you may feel bored yourself from moment to moment, you are not boring in the slightest. Although there may be some "objective" criteria for what can generally be considered a dull (slow, quiet) or a riveting (quick, loud) experience, different people have different thresholds for the two extremes. i have to thank you for recommending sigh swoon’s podcast <3 when you posted her on your story i had to check it out and it was exactly what i needed. I’ve had a lot of similar thoughts about things that she adresses and resonate with a lot of what she’s talking about.
