That happened! After six months of intensive classes, we were told that there is a "second" Finnish language 🤓😀 Finnish encrypted 🤓

But the base I have, thanks to standard Finnish, helps me quickly understand spoken Finnish.

I was thinking about this for a long time.
Some of the best channels to learn languages are called "Easy....(Insert language name)"
For example my favorite such channel, is easy German. (Check out the channels to find out why they're such a great way to learn languages "the spoken way")

But basically not all the languages have an "easy..." channel yet, only a few.
And Finnish is still missing in the bunch.
And given how not very spoken Finnish is worldwide, I'm not really sure how long we'll have to wait to have an easy Finnish channel (or if there'll ever be to be honest).

I mean sure there's one guy on YouTube with a channel called Easy Finnish.
But he's actually not doing what the other easy languages channels are doing (who are more of a community thing).
The guy is just doing his own thing and in fact, he doesn't have the same logo as the other Easy channels.
(But he still tries to teach Finnish his own way which is always appreciated, something is something)

But the easy language channels use a very simple but effective way to teach us how people normally really speak.
They just gather a lot of interviews (that they make themselves) asking any sort of questions about any topic to the people in the streets. Then people just answer however they feel like.

Then they edit all the videos making all the subtitles themselves for both the spoken language (exactly as the people said it) and the subtitles that are the English translation.
Made by the team of each channel, who are usually native speakers of that language, (or really proficient) so they have no problem in understanding in order to make accurate English subtitles.
Not like Google Translate would misinterpret some messages.

It's great.
If there was such channel for Finnish it would be the best thing ever for me.

I don't think creating a new channel on some other language is THAT difficult.
One just gotta get in contact with some of the teams I think, (probably Easy German) and that's easy as they always leave all such informations in the descriptions.

Tho I do understand that in order for a channel to be created, one must have the time and passion to do it. And it also has to be widely wanted by a good enough number of people so that the channel gets views. Understandably as it is a more time consuming project, in which you have to actually get out and talk to people.
And I'm sure this last idea doesn't exactly go along with most Finns' wishes...

As far as I know the only languages that are available like that right now are:

Arabic.
Catalan.
Czech.
Dutch.
French.
German.
Greek.
Italian.
Mandarin.
Polish.
Portuguese.
Russian.
Spanish.
Turkish.
And last but not least
English. ( basically the only one with just one set of subtitles)

True. Now we know. Associate with those who actually speak the language and practice a unique culture. Move to Finland. Join up with an established ethnic Finnish group in America or Europe, if any exist.😊

But all Finnish speakers read and write written Finnish. You never write spoken Finnish or your grammar teacher will literally punch you.

It's not that big of a difference. And just learning spoken Finnish is not the right way to go. Doesn't that apply to all languages?
