.. Putting *strong* feelings aside toward this whole mess, I would still objectively agree that a President should not be able to pardon or excuse any individual involved in any investigation connected to him when it comes to impeachment or abuses of power.

All of this sounds crazy even when described sensibly (I don’t know how you do it), but seeing Roger Stone’s actual words is what truly makes you realize how incredibly insane these people and their actions are.

Youd think there would have been something in the rules that would indicate the president cant pardon someone who's crime directly involves the president himself

Injustice system: The one who commited crimes and lied about it went free. Those who did the right thing and came clean are in prison (as they should be).

I honestly don't think criminals should get to hide behind "this was a first-time offense" as an excuse when they're being convicted of several different offenses that were part of a pattern of behaviour.

Imagine a comparison for a second, taking Roger Stone out of it: If a drug dealer is never caught with their actions for, say, 20 years, how is "This was a first-time offense" essentially any different from saying "Well, I'm such a good criminal I was never caught up until this point, therefore you should go easy on me"?

I'm so sick of feeling like we can't do anything other than just vote. I always assumed the checks and balances systems would do something to prevent this from happening.

Is this how US law works?
1. Should a person be able to free criminals from jail simply because he is president? YES
2. Should a president be able to free criminals he knows or have relations with? YES
3. Should a president be able to free criminals he committed a crime with? MAYBE

Seems pretty absurd to a non US citizen like me...

This shows the flaws of a dual party system SO badly, when punishing a leader goes against a parties best interest they just close ranks
