I was diagnosed with postpartum depression, but I wasn't coping with lack of sleep, little support and an angry and critical partner. I was exhausted and felt a failure. I was extremely attached to my baby. I had no resentment towards her. I was so disappointed with myself that I started thinking of cutting myself to punish myself. I felt I needed to work harder. Over 2 decades later, I realise I have ADHD and I was overwhelmed and sleep deprived. Plus I needed to leave my partner. Phew. My kids continue to be my greatest loves ❤.
