Hollon Safes continue to make safes that focus on one thing: security. With a Hollon Gun Safe, you wont' get a multitude of color options, you won't get a wide variety of options, you'll just get the best gun safe you can buy for the money you are going to spend.

This BHS 16 gun safe from Hollon Blackhawk line is another great valued gun safe for the money. There are two other gun safes in the Blackhawk line, the BHS 22 and BHS 45.

You can view the BHS line on our website at:

This is a mid-level gun safe that offers more security than major competitor's safes at similar price points. But if you're looking for something more secure check out our YouTube review on the Hollon Republic Gun Safe line, an RSC rated safe at:

If you want the absolute best gun safes that money can buy, with concrete lined walls and 1/2 solid steel doors. Look at the BF Gun Safe line from American Security Safes (AMSEC Safes) here:

I’m glad you showed the mechanics of the door, not many people take the time to do that

I am trying to find a small safe (~2cu ft) that is fireproof and good value for the money.
Can you recommend a model that is more burgler resistant than most? Hollon, Gardall ..?

Everyone focuses so much on the door, many thefts/breaches happen from the side or top of the safe.

Would a garage be a place to keep a gun safe that would also hold valuables?

Can't someone take a diamond blade to the side of the safe? I saw that video of the robbers at the pharmacy taking a blade to the side of the safe and pulling out the concrete or whatever the filling was.

Good review. Watched video 3 times. Not being negative but don't think no safe is 100% safe, to keep a person valiables in. What is the best gun safe or safe out there ? Besides home alarm, and hope cops go there and do their job if someone does break in. Then is it really fire proof for 60 to 90 minutes like they claim ? And that is why they make paint for, can paint anything in any desired color.

Man, I've been looking at getting a better safe than the Liberty Centurion I have now. The Hollon Black Hawk was probably going to be the one I purchased until now. I really wanted to see inside the door to check out the bolt work since I thought these gimmicky large number of 1.5" bolts sounded sketchy. I'm glad I waited until I could finally see in the door because that bolt work is trash, utter trash. The size of the bolts means jack as this man well knows, its sales gimmick to impress people who don't know anything about safes. Those bolts are simply screwed onto the edge of a piece of angle iron and are only supported in one place by the tiny edge of the angle iron they go through. Those thing's will just give way under any serious pry attack, their absurd thickness is totally and completely irrelevant when they are supported by virtually nothing.

Real TL rated safes don't use boat loads of massive bolts. Some only use two 7/8" bolts and they're infinitely stronger than these. Come on Hollon, the rest of the specs are great but this is shameful. After seeing this I'm going to guess I'd also find the body is skip welded.

Back to my search I guess. Hopefully a real safe of appropriate size comes up for sale locally. If not I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay a little more for a Sturdy Safe or Amsec BFX.

It's a really stupid question why do you need a gun at all in a democratic society?
