I remember when I was getting my PPL and I was complaining to a group of young commercial/CFI pilots at my flight school about how the school was really pushing its loan program and how I felt it was best to try to get through flight training with as little debt as possible. I got a lot of sideways glances even when I explained that I had already gone through college and had tons of student debt but that the interest was worse than the balance. People just thought I was crazy for thinking that there was a chance they couldn’t just magically make the debt go away with big 1st officer salaries. I have a high salary, too, and I’m still paying off my student loans (almost done finally, but they’re still there). It’s so easy to get swept up in the hype, and I genuinely feel really bad for anyone who signed up for a boat-load of debt to blaze through their ratings only to not have a job at the end of that road.

UPS is hiring because they won the USPS contract for air services. Also why FedEx is now overstaffed.

The fact that you did flight training for 35, 000$ is amazing! Very inspiring!

Great content, as always! However, you missed Alaska and Hawaiian (both legacy carriers). Of course, neither is hiring.

Maybe film shoulders-up so constant hand-arm bee swating movement isn't distracting...or reduce the picture and play b-film in the big picture

I wanted to become a pilot, but I passed the FAA ATC assessment and I was selected for air traffic controller trainee.

I'm thinking of just doing ATC for 25 years and then becoming a corporate pilot for a retirement job at age 50.

What do you know about the 91/135 world? Who is hiring? What are their requirements? What if I want to fly PC12s with you?

My buddy applied to Alligiant he got turned away. He has over 4, 000 hours. I think Alligiant is looking for qualified 121 pilots.

Spirit furloughing, and downgrading pilots while giving executives millions of dollars of pay raises in the same article is wild TBH

Do you have any info on what is going on from a hiring standpoint at NetJets or at other Part 135 operators?

It's all due to the constriction of aircraft production, slowing down like a bottle neck. SaulGoodman🎉

Taking my classes at a college knocking out my general education classes first then quitting my job as an aviation combustor welder to go to flight school but this scares me

So I just hit 1500 hours and am really feeling this hiring freeze. What’s your thoughts on working abroad vs only focusing on the US? PS I am an American citizen only.
