oof, well this explains why we haven't seen much 3-d except from calli. she has access to cover's studio, but the rest of myth doesn't, so they have to go with lower quality 'home version' or get some sort of a lucky break or expensive deal with a different studio

Well, Ame is going to Austria to help her with the 3D equipment stuff, so I'm sure that she's gonna be able to have a 3D birthday. Ofc not with the quality of the Holofest for example, but enough to make content with the mocap suit and that things like Ame and Gura do.

Mocap is obviously used for big movie or game production so 6 figures is not that surprising.

There are some really affordable Mocap suits that Kiara and the others could look into if they want. They might need someone with technical know how to set everything up, but still.
One example is Rokkoko - I've been interested in a suit like that too but I don't really have the money. There are also camera based studio setups and companies offering a set for that, the most affordable I've seen was probably around the 10.000 - 12.000€ range - but then you also need plenty of space, something you don't really need with the suits

Just to put it into perspective, these studios are probably film/tv mocap studios that have the 50 camera setup to capture the actor(s) from every angle.

A lot of times, they’ll have full body 3d scanners as well, and she’d also be paying for the professional staff to handle the software and camera rigs. Also I’m sure there’s probably liability coverage required since these studios are used to capture fight scenes, etc.

Doesn’t matter if you don’t need that gear, she’d be paying for the studio, staff, equipment and those costs are automatically included. Six figures isn’t crazy. These studios are overkill for what she’s looking to do.

She’d be better off renting office space and setting up her own scaled-down mocap studio with 1 to 2 cameras and the VR room sensors.

Six figures for one day is just downright robbery. There are plenty of amazing sets you can purchase for about 1/3 of that price and that's for complete at home rigging, outfit, etc.

On the bright side while professional mocap is still very expensive more affordable full body tracking alternatives are becoming better and cheaper. The real challenge is getting good open source software to control it all since a lot of the best options are still overpriced proprietary crap.

She probably should invest in that 3d tracking suit, the one that codemiko uses, its pricey but not nearly as expensive as using a mocap studio for a day. Then she can just set up her own 3d studio for herself, since she likes to dance and stuff, it would be a great investment for her.
