In response to the question: Search for "Storm Drone FF flying platform". For around $360 you get a the complete drone radio controller. It can be used with most small action cameras.

I am so glad I found this channel. So glad. I feel like I can actually do my movies now,

I agree. And some of my shows do better than others, based on search terms. I never expect this show to do all that well because I make it for fans of the channel. Still, if the question is a popular search item, it gets a decent number. For the most part, I seem to get about 10% of my subscribers to watch a video (depending on the content). Get more subscribers and that 10% should equal more views. Maybe.

the AR Drone operates off your smart phone and has a 720 cam. it costs about 300.
images are pretty good and you can copy your clips into any editing app you have.

it's a really great mic for the price. Have it myself. Okay you better change the cables, but I would buy it!

I've got the same Sennheiser as Scott and I also picked up two of those cheap shotguns after watching a side-by-side comparison. They're an incredible deal and surprisingly comparable to the ME66. A perfect low budget solution. Go for it.

I added an extra word. Ignore the "a" or "the", which ever you prefere.

I did some KAP back in the day. One thing people might be interested in looking up is picavet suspension. It is a good cheap way of leveling shots. Unless you have ideal conditions, a kite is generally going to be too unstable for video (though once we are all shooting 4k and outputing 1080 maybe not). One thing with a kite is you can go HIGH .. so for photography pretty good. You can also take and stitch together multiple shots. So in select circumstances massive image + DVE pan?

The youtube audience is fickle. Getting into the youtube algorithm is key, but getting into it right is the mystery.

The mic element does technically move. And you do lose some top end with age. But it doesn't move much so basically no moving parts. --- I've used a monopod with another brace ace bandaged to it, which helps to tell you where it's pointed. I toyed with a camcorder taped to the tail of a kite, we have strong winds here, it's viable. Just test with a rock before putting a camera on the tail. And it's basically fail footage. But if you need to check a roof without a ladder.

thanks for addressing my question about ariel shots, I looked at copters, but i would probably crash it with the camera, seems like balloons of some kind with would be a safer way to protect the equip. i am working on a set up and will email you again with some pics, thanks v

Microphone wise you can sometimes hide them in the shot...For example, hiding a microphone within a fruit bowl or placing it on a shelf that's still pretty close to the actors can work...This is if you are filming in cramped conditions and a boom pole would be too difficult to swing about the place. It's cheap, works just as well and is out of shot. Lovin' the show :)

1, 000 subscribers every week? That is awesome! Congrats!

A few flying fish balloons (search your favourite cheap shopping site) may make a suitable blimp. I'd think about removing the original mechatronics to save weight and using cables for control.

If the general rule of thumb for a GoPro HERO is that you want to be 4X closer than a camcorder or camera. Than for an aerial shot the "frugal crane should look like it is 40' away.

Sorry I meant the 808 #11, it weighs 15gr and films true 780p at 30fps and costs around 40 bucks.

That mic is cheap, I may have to try it out. I have got so much help from the Frugal filmmaker group on FB. It is a great way to get info and just connect with like minded people. BTW I'm Australian.

Bit overbudget, but an RTF Phantom and GoPro looks like a great combo on the 'cinechopper' channel. Would offer a lot more control than a balloon I think.

Glad your channel is growing! I remember the first time any of my clips got over 2K views...I popped a bottle of champagne with my wife!
