This video was perfect. It helped me understand how the adjustments are made. It was especially helpful because my shades roll the opposite directions. The sun shade has the cloth coming off the back and the blackout shade has the cloth coming off the front. Your explanation was excellent. Thanks!!

After having to repair almost all of my MCD internal shades due to poorly designed parts and then paying the premium that they think their parts should be worth, I personally would never again buy MCD blinds. $23 for a set point part that was designed inadequately in the first place and couldn't possibly cost more than a couple of dollars to make. They should be giving them to the poor people that got duped into buying their shades in the first place.

I bought an American Coach a few months ago, and the first time I tried lowering one of the shades, it slipped out of my hand, snapped to the top, and has been stuck ever since. I'm sure if the resistance is set right, this wouldn't happen but.... any thoughts on why it would be stuck rolled up, unable to be pulled down? It only moves an inch or so down and hits a lock.

I pulled the grey and black mechanisms off each end and didn't find anything that appeared to be broken. ...of course if they have to be aligned in some way, then I've messed them up now.

You make the video look really easy to make these adjustments. However, on our shades we feel that the place where you're pushing your finger in is set in too far and is not catching properly

We have the internal adjustment day/ night shades and the left side bracket worked it’s way out far enough that both shades have lost tension. I was able to replace and tighten the bracket along with the shades. When I look at the paperwork that came with our 2020 Jayco 36 SSWS Pinnacle and the troubleshooting section we were given to go along with the shades says if the shade has lost tension the remedy just say’s add tension with no instructions on how to add tension. The shades are up in the valence so I am waiting on a tool I ordered to set the speed and height once I remedy the tension. Any help would be appreciated.

Now... How do I fix the curling? The solar shades never curl. The blackout shades on every RV I've had started curling before the unit was delivered.

I'm ready to rip all of these out of my new DRV and return to cellular shades. DRV Elite Suites don't use lambrequins. They have wood wrapped windows. 3 inchs of wood around the window with a 2 inch depth. Despite the shades extending well beyond the window and set 1.5 inch inside the wood frame, the curling of the night shades prevents full privacy and do not provide full blackout. With the nightshades curled one can easily see in.

With cellular shades I never worry about someone watching me get in or out of bed or dressing with the lights on. In addition to providing privacy and blacking out the early morning sunlight, cellular shades are also excellent at thermal insulation.

I do not know why these are considered a premium option. Of all the units I had cellular shades on over 18 years, I only had to restring three shades. One was due to someone not using care while opening and closing.

MCD needs to find a material that won't curl within months of cutting. Or fold over 1/8" of the cut end and weld it to reduce, possibly prevent curling.

I'm open to suggestions on how to remedy the curling issue.

Cheers!
