Love this tip my dad was a brickie and to see him shape and juggle bricks was a joyous thing. He came to England and worked as a labourer but taught himself to be a bricklayer. He could plaster, roof and would work before he’d say he could do it.

I do the exact same thing with rough granite from the quarry. Just have to use a tungsten carbide walling chisel and keep at it for about half an hour.

My dad just did his block pave drive....he used his crappy rage mitre saw with a brick cutting/multi use blade said it was awesome at the corner cuts save standing bending over with a big grinder.

Point: you can cut brick all day long with a trowel - but it can’t be with a cheap one. If it’s a cheap trowel, you’ll bust the weld joint pretty quickly. Nice video.
