"2016 is when I first conceived. We lost the baby in stillbirth. It was a boy. I was devastated but we didn’t lose hope. And finally, in 2019, our daughter was born. I thought it was going to be the happiest moment in my life, but I felt happy only in bits and pieces. Things got difficult with
each passing day and I completely stopped feeling joy in any situation. I didn’t know what was happening, neither did my family. I just could sense the disconnect I had with my newborn daughter. Motherhood didn’t feel
natural like you watch in movies. Often I’d feel guilty. I prayed to be a mom, and god gave me her, so I should be feeling blessed, but I just couldn’t. With every passing day, I kept hoping things would get better, but it was
only going downhill. My daughter was almost 2 when I started having severe anxiety. Once I just got so angry for no reason that I threw a plate across the room.

That’s when I realised something was wrong and so I consulted a therapist. I was diagnosed with Postpartum Depression. The recovery was slow. There were bad days, but there were also good days. Step by step, I was
finally starting to get a hold of myself. It’s been four years since the birth of my daughter and I have finally started to feel like ourselves again. A few days ago I laughed heartily over something and seconds later, it hit me, ‘I don’t
even know when was the last time I did that’. Today, I try to use my voice as much as possible to create awareness among young women to seek help when it comes to postpartum depression. I never thought I’d be back to my
normal self if it was not for therapy. And I really want more and more women look at it as their option. Don’t feel guilty for seeking help. You just brought a new life into this world. Don’t let how you feel let you down.

You’re a rockstar!”
