Ben Rice is simply elite. He got thrown into the lions den last year and fought as long as he could before struggling down the line. The guy is made for the Bronx. MVP in the future

The gamble of giving up King for a year of Soto was worth making, even though it didn't quite net us a result that I think was worth it (long term Soto deal or World Series). The reason I don't think getting to the series is enough to make that a good deal is not because I don't think that was great, but because the price was so high for it.

Imagine if we add King to the young core of Rice, Dominguez, Jones, Volpe, Gil, Wells Schmidt and Cabrera, all cheap and long term. And have additional prospects we can trade (like the other 4 guys we gave up). And then some long term deals like Judge and Cole. And now we have room to make some of the moves needed to make this team better. We'd have definitely signed Adamas at 3rd base, making Cabrera a fantastic utility player again. We'd probably have been able to move Stroman's expensive contract, as we would have needed less back and could have eaten more. And all the other depth we traded away were the pitching prospects we need to have a better pen and pitching depth.

Stud. Paul O’Neil predecessor. I absolutely love watching him. I wonder how things shake out when Stanton comes back. I wonder if they move off wells if he can’t compete and pivot to rice

Something to be said for giving some of these prospects a shot. I was praying they would call him up last season and was shocked when they did. The Yankees tend to let guys languish in the minors.

Not ready to feel much about the team or anybody's season just yet. I'm pretty negative and I wasn't all that hype about this team as constructed. But right now I'm not ready to say anybody or the team is good or bad.
