Asus Aimesh setup cannot find or add node? Try this instead if it's not connecting

Why can't I find the Asus Aimesh node during setup? Try this surprisingly simple solution instead to add the node during Asus Aimesh setup.

Aimesh node not connecting during setup seems to be pretty common, even if the node is placed very close to the main router.

I tried to connect the node wirelessly during a few tries, resetting the node, upgrading the firmware. Save your time, because the method in my video worked right away on my first try.

If you are wondering about the Asus RT-AX55 router performance, I can get slightly more than 500Mbps on 802.11AC directly connected to the main router.

On wireless backhaul you can expect the speed to be halved.

Still, using two AX55 for Aimesh is possible as this video shows.

New videos are added to my channel from time to time.

MIND BLOWING SOLUTION IN ONE MINUTE! I had exact same problem, the node does not connect wirelessly whatever you do. This video fixed the problem in 1 second. Thanks!

Brilliant, thank you so much!
I wish I had found your video 3 hours earlier, before I attempted countless resets and other non-working information online!

Old man here. Probably saved me a few hours. Got a new wifi6 Asus router and using my old Rt-Ac5300 as node. Installation was a breeze using this method. Thank you!

Hello Vischan, you are a genius!! and your background music is so calming, just so spot on as my router is driving me crazing. 😅

I've been having this problem for this router which I wanted to set as a node. One one occasion, it worked flawlessly using the wifi method, and the next, it was pure hell. This method was awesome and worked as said in the video. Why the hell ASUS didn't instruct that this was an alternate way is beyond me. Good job mate. Really appreciate ir

THANK YOU! I had been struggling with my ASUS AiMesh setup and gave up, eventually adding it as an extender instead. I decided to try again and struggled UNTIL THIS! It worked exactly how it should have with the ethernet cable!

Bless you, we were running out of things to try and ASUS was entirely unhelpful. This was the only way it worked to set up the node, thank you so much.

Amazing. Many thanks for posting this. I went down the rabbit hole on Tuesday evening and spent close to 3 hours trying and re-trying to get my 2 new devices to be recognized by the AC1900.
Last night after watching your video - the entire process took maybe 12 minutes from start to finish!
Great content - thank you.

Dude. 4 hours later I find your video and this worked. Unbelievable. How did you ever figure this out? I couldn't believe it when the wifi icon changed to the ethernet icon. Worked the 1st try. Connected a 1900 node to a 1900p router. After about a 100 tries trying one and then other as the router/node. Jesus f-ing christ Asus why isn't this in the documentation? The sad music is the perfect complement.

I'm glad to have came across this video. I had just bought one of the Blue Cave routers and was wanting to use it as a node for my GS-AX5400 so that I could provide a better signal for my Nest cam. I was racking my brain trying to figure out why it wasn't finding the node and tried this method and it finally worked. Thanks for this!

This worked liked a charm. After spending hours trying to make it work I found this! Asus should include this on their site. Thanks So Much.

Spent 4 hours trying to connect Blue Cave node unsuccessfully. This worked my first try. Thank you!

This worked for me, after wasting hours trying, including trying WPS, and plugging a laptop directly into my node. Plugging a cable from the node to my router (actually via a switch that is connected to the router) made it work the first time! I then powered it off and moved it across the house and it's working great.

After spending an evening with a second set of CT8 routers I packed them to send them back. Saw this video, tried it and it worked. Thanks so much!

good work.

steps.
1. take on Ethernet cable
2. connect to LAN port on MAIN router.
3. connect to WAN port on Node router.
4. click connect button
5. if still showing failed connection, try to restart both routers, and try again.
