In the winter of 2023/24 Ollie & the band headed to a remote studio in Cornwall to start work on the 4th EP, Rebirth. Starting the recording process of it for the 4th time, after re-writing it 5 times.
Taking time away from recording music, touring and everything industry related, with the intention on not returning to music. I ended up re-writing the whole EP we had already recorded.

Byegone will be the first track off the upcoming EP, Rebirth. Planning release for the end of 2024. Coming out of a comfort zone, Wanting to push our boundaries on what we call "Cinematic ambient folk" Blending our ambient acoustic, guitars drenched in reverb with drum samples rather than conventional drums, layers of violins and arpeggiated synths, a whole new direction for me personally but a path ive been wanting to explore for a while and Byegone was the first song I started to experiment with.

I’m really excited about sharing this one, It feels like an expansion of my previous work and maturity as a musician, we all worked so hard to explore new tones of sound and production ideas, while retaining the rawness and honesty of the song.

It's taken 4 years to write this track. 6 different versions, 23 mixes, 4 different producers.. it's been a real challenge but it was all worth it. Ive never been more proud of a song before and Byegone is the start of a whole new path musically. Shaping the sound of the rest of the EP.

Filmed, edited, directed and produced by Abbie Barton over the course of 4 months in all weather conditions..
