I have had my X-terra Pro for less than a week and have already found my first ever 14K gold ring.

I've used the 6inch coil to go prospecting with the xterra pro and it'll pick up a 0.05 gram flake at 2 inches

To be fair, an Amazon kids toy detector would pick up a big gold ring like that as well 😂. The "complaints" aren't about whether or not it'll see gold, it comes down to whether or not it's sensitive to small and deep gold. It's not suited for gold prospecting like other minelab units.

I agree don't listen to the haters. Great detector for the price.

You may want to lower the “Accept/Reject” LONG PRESS. “This Advanced Setting allows you to manually
control the point at which ferrous tones occur.” In some cases, gold may be pulled down into the negative in the trash.

Returning mine. Got about 2 hours use out of it and then the machine went haywire. Did factory reset. 😕

Yeah my XTERRA Pro can also hit a larger gold ring but then I tested a few small gold stud earing and the machine couldn't hit on them. But like you said for the price of this machine you can't really complain.

Most detectors can find gold. But can this detector discriminate out the trash. I can find coins like dimes and quarters easily by discriminating out the trash. But things like gold rings will ring up with the same number as trash. As such, I'll be digging hundreds or thousands holes of trash before I find that gold item. Doesn't that stand true for most metal detectors?

Love mine, I hunt the treasure coast here in Florida, found some cool relics on the beach from the 1715 fleet, great metal sector for the cost.
