The Lycian Way - Hiking and Backpacking Turkey Ep. 8

This hike on the Lycian Way was all about walking the Roman aqueduct. This ancient structure has been fascinating me for a long time. I finally walked it! And I could share it with my hiking friend Maria!
The road to and from it was a prickly one to say the least. Kalkan is the place for fine dining, bars and sauntering along terraces full of tourists. Definitely not a place where these two stinky hikers would like to hang out.

The Lycian Way is a 540 km long thru hike. It is a way-marked footpath that takes zbout 29-day's to complete. It winds along the south coast of Turkey It starts at Ölüdeniz by Fethiye and goes to Antalya. The old trail is a combination of Roman roads, old footpaths and mule trails. It was researched, designed and waymarked by Kate Clow in 1999. The Lycian Way is Turkey’s first long-distance walking trail.

Hi there, just discovering your videos today. I did the Lycian Way back in September, from the 25th September to about the 8th October as I recall. I found this day incredibly tough, I did the cliff face walk into Kalkan. It looks like you took the more sensible route! Richard, England

Het lijkt erop dat je een snoeischaar moet meenemen op deze route.
