Lec-49: Variable Length Subnet Masking(VLSM) in Hindi with Examples | Computer Networks

Показать описание

This video explains the concept of Variable Length Subnet Masking(VLSM).
Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM) is a subnet -- a segmented piece of a larger network -- design strategy where all subnet masks can have varying sizes. This process of "subnetting subnets" enables network engineers to use multiple masks for different subnets of a single class.

S1= 0 to 63 & the usable hosts are 62
S2= 64 to 127 & the usable hosts are 62
S3=128 to 255 & the usable hosts are 126

Sir Subnetting itself means dividing the network into smaller parts. here in this video you changed the Host bits to classify the different size Subnet which itself is conflicting the definition. Why cant we just do this same method of bit changing like for S1 first bit in Network part to 0 then for S2 to 10 and S3 to 11. Am i right on this point?

Can these changes can it be done in network bit as well as in host bit for VLSM. Because if we will change in network bit then the IP range is also changing. Please clarify my doubt. I have seen some other stuff where they are changing the network bits not the host bits. Thank you for your effort. love all your videos.

How many routers will be used in last example. In the figure, you have drawn only one in the middle but i think it should be 3, one for the packet incoming into the whole big network, one for differentiating between two big equal halves (S1) and one to differentiate between S2 and S3.

thank you sir.
one doubt :
subnetmask of s2 and s3 is same which is 255.255.255.192 then how to know a packets is coming for subnet s2 or s3?

Hats off to u sir.
your way of teaching is simply awesome.
Without CSE background degree wise, I am able to understand everything of CSE.

Simply Awesome way of teaching.
