FROM SHED TO CHIC 🤩🏠 Transforming Our Old Stone House

Our old stone house has been through some hard times in its long life 😅 but with each week we learn new building & restoration skills to revive & restore this derelict cottage into a modern, chic country retreat! After countless hours of stripping off the old concrete from the walls to discover the beautiful stones, our walls are finally ready to be transformed!

This week we’ve set ourselves the daunting (& definitely unrealistic!) task of pointing the exterior of the house by hand with a traditional lime pointing technique that honours the history of this little home. We’re gonna need some luck with the weather, a lot of patience & a strong wrist if we’re going to pull this off! But WOW what a HUGE transformation it will be!

I’m guessing that doing the pointing on nice days like that could be a relaxing, enjoyable task. For some weird reason it reminds me kinda of doing a puzzle, you just keep “chipping away” at it, but unlike a puzzle, that’s very temporary, those walls will look gorgeous for many years to come 👍🏻🧡
