SENDING IT in the BURNT Forest | Redding, California

My first time riding in a trail network affected by a wildfire, the experience in Redding riding through a burnt out forest was spooky, to say the least. Riding up to Mule Mountain, we ride Snail Trail and Enticer.

The sound of grinding on the dirt from the tires is “already music” to my ears! No need to have those 7 musical notes added 😀👍

I saw Burnt Forest and instantly new it was Redding because that's where I mountain bike.
Pretty cool

Never thought I'd hear Auld Land Syne in a MTB video.. Can you do a few without music every now and then?

It's nice to see some green grass between those burnt trees. My hometown trails burned last fall as well and I still haven't had a chance to ride them since the fire. I have gotten a few chances to go up there, and it's like a whole new world! The trails I grew up riding are so different now. I can see so much more without the leaves and foliage blocking my view.

Sad and tragic for nature, but yet she's resilient like you said. Thanks

Great video again Eric! I know how you feel about the gap jumps. I'm the same, I know I have the ability to do it, but my brain just won't let me.
I recently managed to over power my thoughts though, went to some local trails that have some decent 18-20ft doubles. I did a couple of test runs to speed check, and then my brain started to shut me off. Before I could think to much about it, I just went for it, and I'm glad I did as I was able to clear them all easily. I found that deliberately thinking about something non mtb related helped me to switch off mentally. Even singing in your head can help achieve this. Just an idea for you to try anyway.
Keep up the great video's, and u hope both Yuka and yourself are well!
Take care, and much love from the uk!

01:24 'thank god for the fire then' comment cracked me up!! Excellent videos Eric, thank you! You did a top 10 B.C trails in 2017... I'm planning on some B.C bike rides (big ones). Does that list still stand? Would you add any others to that list now?

I am from Redding! I recommend rendering your videos in 1440p or higher to solve nitrate issues btw!

I have lived in Redding my whole life, and the carr fire was bad. But Redding in general has become a shit hole because of the crackheads and homeless population has became horrible. I remember growing up in the 90s in Redding as a kid, and we never had a homeless problem until around 2007. Redding council needs to do their job, and make Redding a safe place to live
