Used the BV206 in the british army when i was in the falklands in 89, was a great bit of kit. Obviously this one being shown is better than the original which were basic but it also made them easy to work on with very little going wrong. Best for transporters or mortar teams i think and not for front line so to speak. best bit for me was being able to cross the bogs and swamps that no other vehicle could cross.

Wikipedia might be able to calm down all the British applause.

Here you have the answer:
BAE Systems AB is subsidiary holding company for the Swedish assets of BAE Systems Land & Armaments, whose ultimate parent is the British defense contractor BAE Systems.

The portfolio in 2020 contained the company's Systems C-ITS, involved in simulators and training; Bofors, that produces tube gun systems and related ammunition; Hägglunds, the manufacturer of tracked military and civilian vehicles.

BAE Systems Bofors
BAE Systems Bofors AB, located in Karlskoga, Sweden, is a Swedish subsidiary of BAE Systems Platforms & Services.

Its corporate heritage goes back to Bofors, which was founded in 1646 and entered the Defense business in 1883. In 1999 Saab purchased the Celsius Group, the parent group of Bofors. In September 2000 United Defense Industries (UDI) purchased Bofors Weapon Systems from Saab (the tube artillery interests), while Saab retained the missile interests. In 2005 BAE Systems purchased UDI and re-organized all its land systems businesses into BAE Systems Land and Armaments. As part of acquisition Bofors Defense was renamed BAE Systems Bofors.

I worked on the latest iteration of this vehicle and while the vehicle is manufactured by hagglunds in Sweden which is owned by bae systems the newest versions largely are a modular design incorporating systems from all over the world which in turn offers best value for concept which is of course is originally a Swedish design.

This vehicle is not British, it’s Swedish. Have been available in the Swedish army for decades.

Having seen these in operation on Herrick, they are a very good example of how the company can make a combat vehicle that serves every purpose

If "Viking" is British then Jaguar and Land Rover is Indian.

The brittish bought a Swedish company that has been around a long time. The manufactoring is still in Sweden. I do not know if the brittis also make models in the UK.

I'm shocked that people continue to misuse the word "shocked" in clickbaity video titles like this. And for that reason I'm out.

Hägglund developed this vehicle, BAE owns Hägglunds.

These are fantastic machines. The old Bv206 was good but this is a whole new ball game. The great thing is that they need no further modification for swimming.

Hagglund bandvans have been around for years, the big improvement was to get rid of the five cylinder Mercedes Benz engine and gearbox they used years ago 😊

I did my military service 27 years ago in the predecessor of this one. In Sweden. Engineered and built by Sweden. It’s a Swedish invention. And it still is.

I always thought of these being used in snowy environments, rather than in desert climates, but I guess I'm thinking of the older 1980s models.

Certainly shocked me to hear of a working British vehicle!

I drove the BV206 in Norway, cracking bit of kit, ace for a full load and then towing skiers on their NATO planks, only real pain is changing a track in deep snow in minus 25 and then add on the wind chill, fingers don't want to work and can't feel 😂
