OLD SCHOOL BUTTERSCOTCH AND CHOCOLATE BREAD PUDDING
This is how i enjoy using up brioche bread
Its my favorite bread to use when i make bread pudding
RECIPE:
FOR CUSTARD
2 quarts diced brioche bread
6 eggs, beaten
4cups milk
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon(optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Slice or dice bread into small pieces into an 8 inch square baking pan. . If desired, sprinkle with raisins.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Beat until well mixed. Pour over bread, and lightly push down with a fork until bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture.
you can also heat the milk and sugar and then add the eggs to it )Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top springs back when lightly tapped.
RECIPE FOR VANILLA SAUCE
4 egg yolks
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup granulated sugar
heat milk,vanilla and sugar in small pot until boiling
add 1/2 hot cream to eggs yolks in bowl
mix together and add back to small pot
simmer for 1 minute and cool
serve with pudding
