Backyard Discovery Woodridge Elite Cedar Swing Set Step-By-Step Installation

Backyard Discovery Woodridge Elite Cedar Swing Set Playground is a not the cheapest swing set out there. We got it on sale at a Sam's Club and I and I do understand that it takes a lot of time and money to design and make these playgrounds, but I don't think Backyard Discovery has made a lot of effort in quality of the wood that they used. The price tag is definitely not worth the quality of the cedar wood and I think they could have done a better job.

Their customer service is excellent though, as I was missing couple parts and I received them within 3 days after calling them. This video is rather long and I felt that a voiceover is not needed as you can see all the steps I was going through and if you follow the instructions manual and this video, you should be able to do everything by yourself.

They charge between $500 and $700 for installation and I think anyone who has basic tools can do this by themselves. My wife helped me with sorting all the parts and that was not a small job. She also helped me with handing certain boards and tools, but I got everything else done by myself with no other help.

Altogether, it took me around 30 hours to finish this, including the mulch installation. I used 46 bags of rubber mulch and that cost me about $400. This whole project cost around $1800 as the Backyard Discovery swing set was on sale for $1300 when we bought it. It is back to $1500 now on Sam's Club's website. I recorded almost 14 hours of footage and it took me probably 3 hours to edit it.

It’s funny to me bc his face stays the same way all the way through, just putting to a swing set for the fam and wifey helping . You would see my frustration and maybe some cursing lol👍 My son started with me since he was 5 on the job and home projects, now 12 . nice work. I've been building swing sets for over 20 years now and most people who tackle these themselves do an awful job. You got the fort leveled which is a huge part of doing it right.
Tips for future self builders:
get a few hardware organizers from Lowes and label the sides so you know what bolt/screw is where.

Since it was built on top of grass have you had any issues with the structure staying level and square? Also would you recommend bringing up the grass to build it on dirt, then laying down the mulch? Ty in advance and great video

Super helpful video, really appreciate you sharing! Did you end up adding extra support to any element of the construction beyond what was included in the box? Would you recommend adding extra bolstering to support the weight of a 200 lb adult plus two children about the size of the ones in your video? Noticed during the assembly that it seemed to securely support your weight while installing the clubhouse, but I’ve seen some reviews saying that they heard creaking with a 130 lb person walking on it. Welcome any insight you may have as I’ve just ordered one of these sets and I know my kids will want me to join them in the upper clubhouse. Thanks in advance!
