Not exactly, you should re-watch it. That was my childhood memory too, but in fact, he tells the Scarecrow that he doesn't need a brain, just a diploma. What a great, scary lesson!
And he tells the Tin Man that a heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others. Seriously?! I personally think that's an awful message.

@MrOli80 It was not Dorothy's fault. She just happened to appear in Oz and know the twisted Glinda first. I mean, if you are on a new place suddenly, weird and everything and you find a lady that is all sweetness (Glinda in desguise) and a green lady quite rude. Which one would you believe in?
