I saw someone else solder surface mount tech like that and I always think there has to be a better way. Good build, looking forward to the next video.

You are exstreamly good with that solder pencil, question you don't use a tip cleaner /thinner .do you, I bought a cleaner / thinner from radio shack, it a pricey little tin, but works well, I bet most people don't no how hard that chip was to install, I do some what and it's very hard, great job.smd, stuff is a hard skill to learn.

Drilling a hole in iron tip will make it last significantly shorter. Rather buy a premade tip for that purpose
