Teenagers across the United States are taking action on issues they're passionate about. KQED's Stepping Up series introduces four high school students who are making a real difference in their own communities.

The challenge asks students to create a video, audio or written piece sharing the issue or event that sparked them to act, and what they are doing about it. We welcome submissions from youth ages 13-18. The media submitted can be created in the classroom, after school program, or independently."

They're not radical views, they're cynical, misguided and racist, all delivered and swallowed with a smile of exuberance.
Your teachers ought to be sacked if not prosecuted.

I was looking for something a little different with this video.. I don't understand why she became an activist.. Seems like on one side, the white community supported her and themselves. While in the black community, there was virtually no support for one another. How is this a racism problem? (correct and educate me please)

It is good to be aware of injustice been done. But it is soooo much worse obsessing over something you can not change. That is one of the reasons youth today havve much higher rate of anxiety and depression than previous generations.

I think I want to use this video and the comments section to really give perspective...wowza...a lot of hurt feelings and a nice scope of the diverse opinions within this world (or at least within the U.S.)

I was a poor white kid, but I worked hard and made it, thats all you got to do, dont blame it on "Being Black", because a lot of black people have made it, so dont be the "Victim", if you want a role model, look towards Morgan Freeman, he is not a black American, he is an American who is black, (his words not mine).

Do enjoy your youth, and yes, do have interlectual clashes with people, but be open enough to accept you may be wrong. (Education is an alteration of your oppinions)
