Did you know George and Martha Washington loved chocolate? Today, chocolate is accessible to purchase almost everywhere and in many shapes or forms. But how was chocolate made in the 18th century? Our manager of historic trades Sam Murphy demonstrates how chocolate was made during George Washington's time, using 18th-century tools!

This is cool, but you might as well get a real molcajete to break down the cocoa beans. You could also just use the metate to break the nibs down. Folk still do chocolate like this. You missed a good opportunity to talk about chocolate origins, types of cacao, etc.
