This solution did not work for me since I'm not using the default theme. What I did was go to: your theme)/template/common/footer and just comment out the affiliates thing like this: <!--<li><a href="<?php echo $affiliate; ?>"><?php echo $text_affiliate; ?></a></li>//-->
