This video is a special dedication to the goddess Marrieamman. It takes us back to the time of the 1860 Indentured labourers who were brought to the shores of Port Natal South Africa to work on cane fields. They brought with them the beautiful tradition of Marrieamman Prayer which is still very much alive in this day and age.

The video depicts their humble lifestyle and how they celebrated the goddess with much love and devotion.

It's amazing as the indentured labourers from India to Mauritius have also kept these traditions.
These songs are still sung nowadays.
I was suprised when i heard the song Hare Hare that we also sing in Ramabhajanam for Srimadree appanah pooja.
It seems both our ancestors come from the same indian village but took different queues to board the ship.
Proud you are keeping the tradition.
