It took you 5 minutes to explain your point. I’ll be quick.

Intentional or not, Clowney lowered his helmet and made helmet to helmet contact with Wentz. Book ‘em boys

You don't know what you are talking about. That's your opinion. Number 30 hit him and Wentz knees were down, and then Clowney came and dished a quick illegal hit. When you watch the rest of the post season, let me know if the ref won't throw a flag for a late hit before the whistle. It will happen. The rule was designed to protect QBacks. A QB can throw the ball and while it is sailing in the air (before a whistle is blown), recieve a late hit to draw a flag. Please understand that all rules are desinlgned not only to protect the player, but protect NFL investment, as a quarterback us the most valuable position and his body is worth multi millions.

And if you slow down the video on YT you still see how it was a dirty hit.

I'm a Dallas fan, I have zero love for the Eagles. Wentz was falling down as he was coming in, he chose to continue with the hit. He also led with his helmet, which was uneeded as well. If anything he could have avoided spearing him, but still came in with contact. What he saw was an opportunity to rough up the qb and get away with it.

Crown of helmet to the back of another guys head who's already going to the down is a dirty hit.

Watch the emphasis he puts on the hit after wentz is down, all he had to do was fall on him, he led with his helmet, there was no reason for that . Get some glasses .

I feel like he was aiming to tackle him from behind but Carson fell faster than he expected which is why he collided with the back of his head instead but the optics look dirty not saying it is tho

In retrospect this was one the biggest hits in the history of the NFL. Clowney hit Wentz so hard that it knocked all knowledge of playing QB out if Carson Wentz’ head! 😂

Its kinda like how even the littlest amount of contact looks like pass interference in slow motion. Not a dirty play and honestly I dont think he will even get a fine.

Unneccessary he didn't need to go for that knowing he was already going down. Just flat out dirty man. He definitely didn't need to lead with that shoulder and helmet while he was already being tackled

Sorry but first contact is with the crown of the helmet to the helmet in your slow mo at 1:13. That is why he got concussed. Pretty sure that is in the NFL rule book. It wasnt late. Its hitting with the crown. Just try to hit somebody in the helmet 2ft. Off the ground with the crown. It's called spearing.

The more that I look at it in real time the more that it looks like an unfortunate bang bang play. In SLOW motion of course it looks worse then it is. But in real time Clowney was just making a tackle putting a hit on the QB. Trying to make him feel his precense. Not malicious tho.

Leading with the helmet is against the rules. Clowney will get fined because the NFL is doing what they can to change the way guys tackle. Dirty play? I don't think so. Against the rules? Yes. And i am a Hawks fan. Just trying to be objective. If this happened to Russell, i'd be ballistic.

🤣😂🤣 it’s a dirty play. He dove into the back of his helmet and even turned his helmet to make contact on a more solid piece of his helmet. He didn’t fall on him. If he fell on him there’s no injury he very clearly dives and smashes into the back of his head with his helmet.

Russell Wilson was hit late in this, not sure when but i remember watching it and even Al and Chris commenting on how much time after he threw it, when he gets hit.

Cheap shot to the back of the head. Clowney hitting Carson like that is dirty . Helmet to helmet on QB is a penalty

It’s the leading with the helmet that makes it dirty. Clowney could have easily wrapped him up, but chose to lower his helmet and lead with it into Carson’s. Yes, looking at it in fast motion shows a bang bang play, but these guys are pros and good enough to lead with the shoulder, wrap up, or anything else besides what he did.

It looks dirty to because it looks like he put all his weight to it instead of trying to grab him so he wont advance

To add to your argument, both helmets were going the same direction which lessons the impact

Contrary to apparently wide-spread belief, "dirty" plays aren't necessarily banned in football. This is why a lot of QBs dive to the turf after throwing picks or slide early on runs, because they know defenders almost never get a legal excuse to hit them the same way they could hit a RB or defensive player. I think there is a solid case that Clowney wasn't even trying to be dirty on this hit, but even if he was, by the letter of the law he was in the clear. No penalty, no suspension, no fine. No surprise.

Watch Clowney head. He aimed that helmet at Wentz's helmet..
