2017 Mercedes E 220d (194hp) - 0-100 km/h acceleration (60FPS)

Short acceleration test with the all-new 2016 / 2017 Mercedes-Benz E 220d (W213 E-Class) powered by that newly developed OM 654 2.0 diesel engine delivering 194 hp & 400 Nm of torque through a 9G-Tronic transmission (weight: 1.680 kg). As we are in Portugal to test this stunning piece of technology we of course were not able to test higher speed accelerations but will make sure to let those follow once we have the car on the Autobahn again. First impression are that especially the low noise level of this diesel makes it a proper engine for such a luxurious car, even from the outside it is never annoying. On the other hand the power-delivery is really smooth, especially in the higher rpms it behave more like a petrol engine. The performance is adequate for most people's needs. I remember when four cylinder diesel E-classes had acceleration so slow that could only be measured with a calendar. Remember the W123 200d? So slow that you would be dead and buried by the time it finally hit 100 km/h.

I drive taxi in Denmark and I've been driving the w213 220d for over a year now. I think it's the best car you can buy for the money. The engine is powerful enough, the ride is very smooth, it feels like it should. Fuel consumption is amazing ☺️

Und wiedereinmal sehe ich was für ein willkommenes Privileg es doch ist, so schnell fahren zu können wie ich ich will auf der Autobahn in DE.
Ich hätte kaum Anreize mir z.B. ein AMG-Modell zu holen, wenn ich in Portugal leben würde, weil ich deren Potential nie vollkommen ausschöpfen könnte.
Da reicht ein MX-5, macht Spaß für die Serpentinen und da sind nur 120 km/h drin noch erträglich.
Und die neue E-Klasse finde ich rund um gelungen. Zwar stimmt es, dass die und die C-Klasse sich sehr ähnlich sehen, dennoch hat sie irgendwie noch ihren eigenen Charakter und Reiz

Also der geht ja mal richtig straff nach vorne. Ein 350d in der S-Klasse braucht nur eine halbe Sekunde weniger auf 100 km/h. Wie war der Fahrkomfort mit der neuen Air Body Control??

Wow top ausgestattet für einen 220d. Hat sogar das Burmester High End Audio. Kostet schlappe 5800 Euro Aufpreis. Und nur mit Schiebedach bestellbar. Also 7000 Euro Aufpreis. Wahnsinn.
