Mighty the Armadillo is probably the most well known comic book villain of all time. For the longest time, it was thought that he was simply a bad guy of The Fantastic Four, a villain that would never be too far of a stretch from being an evil genius like Reed Richards of the original series but was too cartoonish and too childish a character for Marvel's more serious sensibilities. Even after more than 20 years in the public eye, there are still those who believe that Mighty the Armadillo was simply a bad boss at Marvel, a villain that got lost somewhere between "Doom Patrol" and "The Mighty Thor" or in between "Captain America" and "Guardians of the Galaxy". He was created not by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby or Steve Ditko but by Larry Lieber, the editor of The Fantastic Four. A few years before the events of "The Fantastic Four" series, Lieber was doing some revisions on The Thing, a character he had created, and when he came up with the villain, he decided to make his own version of the character, not so much
