Its amazing these two people singing in a room, no fancy technology, just singing together, can be my favorite version of this song. Perfection is possible.

My mother passed away yesterday and I chose this song for a slide show at her funeral. I have listened to it probably 20 times today. What a beautiful moment in the history of mankind to hear James and Carly sing this.

I am slowly but inexorably getting deaf due to diabetes and old age -- my consolation is having been able to hear these lyrics and these melodies for most of my lifetime.

My older brother used to sing this song for me when I was going to sleep. He died of leukemia when he was 20 years old and I was just 3.Its about all I can remember of him and it still moves me to tears everytime I hear it.To this day I sing my girls to sleep at night to JT songs. One day they came in while I was watching an old JT vid on YouTube like this one and my younger daughter says “ Daddy, he’s singing your song”.I was floored and all I could think of to say bet you didn’t know you had a famous dad huh? “ They’ll figure it out someday but for now it’s how I keep my brothers memory alive.Thank you JT for all the years and the songs!

Update* Found out a couple months ago that JT was gonna be playing in our home town at CMAC and got tickets.Me personally I’ve seen him in person at least half a dozen times but I’m more excited that I can take my girls to see him while he’s still alive.Years ago I had the chance to see BB King play Jones Beach and though I wasn’t really familiar with music it was a unforgettable night that I’m glad I had a chance to see.

I sang this song to my mom the night before she passed away in hospice, and my aunt and I listened to it around her just after she passed. This song reminds me of when I told her it was okay, she could let go now. That she didn't have to be in pain anymore, I would be okay, I just want her to be free. She passed 5 minutes before I woke up the next morning on a cloudless, beautiful sunny day.
She sang James Taylor to me when I was a child to put me to sleep, and I sang him to her to send her off on her new journey. I'll forever be grateful for this song and his music.

They were fantastic together, the way she looks at him with so much passion while man who gets that type of admiration is one lucky guy.

No autotune, no toxic fanbase, no addiction to fame and money and world domination. Just plain old beautiful music by two beautiful singers.

I love these two, both separately and together. I grew in the 70's listening to their music.
