Liz Gilbert (Julia Roberts) is a modern woman on a quest to marvel at and travel the world while rediscovering and reconnecting with her true inner self in Eat Pray Love. At a crossroads after a divorce, Gilbert takes a year-long sabbatical from her job and steps uncharacteristically out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life. In her wondrous and exotic travels, she experiences the simple pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of love in Bali. Based on an inspiring true story, Eat Pray Love proves that there really is more than one way to let yourself go and see the world.

I had a similar experience to this movie, but it wasn't for a year. I worked hard and saved for it. It was the best experience of my life and now I'm ready to go again.

The book is so brilliant. Filled with spiritual insights. It's a great story about getting out from the maze of despair. Searching for answers, searching for a balanced life. A happy life. Great job, Liz!

This film is great because it really shows that spirituality is true key to happiness, and the journey to self discover yourself and connecting with inner self is very important. The key to meditation is knowing how to calm the mind, not have constant thoughts. Traveling is the best as there are over 195 beautiful cultures on this earth and to learn from everyone from all different backgrounds and making friends from all cultures is great, that's the best part of being human I think, travelling does the open the eyes and mind more wider to see how everyone is living. Also its not about making lots of money, its what you do with money, giving to charity or helping out less fortunate people to make their dreams come true is also a way to achieve true inner happiness.

Some movies make you think about your life. Where it's going, Where it's been, and Where it will end... This is one of those movies. Watch it with someone you love.... Peace.

For everyone who’s saying they can’t afford to travel in the comments, there are plenty of low cost ways to do so. You can volunteer, or teach, or find ways to budget for a year and then go. Look online there’s so many options and advice from people who’ve been in the same situation, yet found a way.
The only thing limiting you, is you.

I will forever be grateful to this commercial, because thanks to it I found my favorite artist of ALL TIME, Florence + The Machine.

I started reading this to my grandmother the other night she was repeating things she heard me say..reading out loud 😂 it has an Under the Tuscan Sun vibe to it..another favorite of mine..self discovery can be the scariest journey of all..

She was very fortunate to be able to experience all of this. Events happened after what was portrayed in the movie that made me believe her search wasn't over. She still was in the process of evolving and making changes in her life. Very good author by the way!

Very underrated movie, I found myself liking it a lot. I'm not even a fan of movies with this kind of story or style, but this movie is really good. Amazing performances from Julia Roberts and James Franco.

I will have to watch this movie again, after almost three years. I guess I have to find myself again. So relaxing and inspiring movie.

I always sidestepped around Eat, Pray, Love being condescending and thinking that it would be some middle aged white woman ranting about Christianity and how she "found god". When I pushed my arrogance aside and finally sat down to read after multiple friends recommended it to me, what I found was a truly inspiring, beautiful book. I may be an atheist, but I myself found joy, comedy, and wisdom in the memoir even still. A definite read and I can't wait to watch the film.

I wonder where Indian and Indonesian women go to find themselves and let it all go. This movie is possible only with a western woman’s perspective.

I went to see this when it was released and it made me want to sell everything, pack up whatever was left, and take off on an adventure!

I don´t understand why are so many people against the fact that she was only thinking about herself. Isn´t there a time, only for a while, we should all think about us first? We should all search for what makes us happy, regardless others´ opinions. She hurt, she got hurt, that´s life. The movie was nice, Julia is always a brilliant actress and she was a big plus to the movie. The book, which I am reading right now, is ok too. Not excelent, not a favourite until now, but hope to read it till the end.
