Of recent, there has not been a lot on YouTube that made me have a serious belly laugh. This is terrific. I am totally going to build this. Thanks Joe for showing this off. Your enthusiasm about this is infectious.

Vorpal is a totally awesome project. Built it with my son this Christmas from parts sourced from AliExpress/eBay. Some of the parts were a bit different so we had to do some small modifications, but wasnt too hard. Also the code is easy to understand and to mod. We built with a joystick as the key D-pad didnt arrive in time.

Thats fantastic Joe, I saw this months ago and was very tempted, now even more so.
You videos are getting better every time mate, very nice indeed.

Love your videos! I had my daughter watch this and now we are going to have our first project together! She is 8 so this is going to be fun and a great learning experience for both of us.

Whoa! That's cool! In Philadelphia, there was a robotics/3D-printing class that I attended, and Vorpal Robotics was teaching it! I got to 3D print my own attachments for the drawing-contest, and my robot got first place on one of the three trials because of the intricate design of the attachment! :D

Cool project. Just a comment on buying parts:
I bought small plastic servos multiple times online and from reputable sources and I must say the servos I normally buy on ebay, banggood, etc... are very inconsistent. Bare in mind I am only talking about the smaller plastic ones. I got some that worked very well and others in which the driver burned down just from powering it on once, some in which the gears where defective and rattled their way to oblivion and some that simply did not work. The most common problem is that, with the same control setup, they were off by, sometime, 30º from what it is was expected. Even when buying from the same seller, they get different batches and one time you get perfectly good parts and the next one they are all garbage.
I am not in anyway telling you not to buy parts from ebay, I myself continue to do it and it is much more cost effective than other sources. I am just saying that servos specifically I prefer to just get them from reputable sources because, even though they are more expensive, they normally have better quality control. And since I do this as a hobby and my focus is to have fun doing it, I prefer not to waste my time having issues that can be avoided.
Of course, to each is own and some people might not have the money for that but I just wanted to share my experience for the ones that are weighting both options.
In this particular case I do believe, if you have the means, you should buy it from the guys that took the time to make something cool and opened it to everyone :)
