I think what a lot of people in these comments are forgetting when it comes to changing things about Spider-Man is that his character has always had variation between incarnations depending on the writer and that ultimately “changing” Spider-Man wouldn’t matter because as Stan lee said himself: “anyone can wear the mask” the spiderverse movies prove that not only do people not care when you change up Spider-Man but that a diverse protagonist can be just as beloved as any other.
