Magix Movie Edit Pro 2018 - Video Level Curves Tutorial (Transparency Key Frames)

This is how to mix two video tracks together or make one track visible for some time and gradually mix the other in and out for effect. This can be done with the fade handles but not very well. It's better to control the video levels with key frames by a curve made of nodes that you can drag to the level you want. Video Level Curves are available in Magix Movie Edit Pro as well as Video Pro X but it's a little hard to find. It's under the Chroma Key effect. I will show you have to use it and how the controls work for video levels. There is even a way to smooth the curve by changing the interrelation method so the in-between key frames are added automatically for smoothing.

Awesome Dave. I need to up grade my edit software. I like the magix movie maker software but I tried a timelaps video but could only speed up x2. And would have liked to try it X4, X8, X16, X32 like some other edit software does.

Do you have any tutorials on the add movie. I am creating a series of interviews and I want to use the elements from the opening I built. I want to put the opening audio, video and titles in each movie. I would love to be able to bring the elements into the new project. I don't want to copy the rendered opening since it would be going down a generation and MP4 crushes stuff. Any thought or do you know of any good tutorials on how to do this.. Thanks

Continuation from last post: I even doubled checked to make sure that I was in the "Stamp" mode in Chromakey, etc, but to no However,  I am happy to report, I still have MEP 2015 Plus installed, and I was able to do it with absolutely no problem, which prompts me to ask you, "Do you like the upgrade to 2018 and if so, what exactly have you found in the 2018 version to merit the upgrade from 2017, 2016, 2015, etc?

Hi Dave! I think I got a defective MEP "Premium" download .... I followed your latest video (above) to a "T" but when I select the "Video Level" control in Chroma Key, not only do I "NOT" get the 'tiny eye' (of the tiger) but I am also unable to add Keyframes, which probably has a lot to do with my last comment regarding those previous issues I had with Keyframing. I followed all the steps in this tutorial (another great one, by the way) and everything worked like a charm, up until, I move the "Video Level" toggle bar. As soon as I did that, the Keyframe menu got highlighted, like yours, however, the "magic" little eye doesn't appear, nor does the ability to create a Keyframe work when I select the +(add) Keyframe symbol. And Yes, I am in the correct mouse mode, etc....Very weird. I just received the back-up disc, so maybe I need to reinstall the program from the disc, rather than the download version. I'm sure Pro and Premium 2018 are identical, as far as this editing is concerned. Keep up the great work! Who knows.... Maybe Magix will hire you! :>)
