I’ve been using this gun daily for about a year and a half now and absolutely love it. I use it as a detail gun over my Devilbiss Sri regularly as it sprays much better at lower pressure for small blends or jamb jobs. It’s my all rounder for anything small and also use it for plastic primer and clear coat blender as well. I have a hard time spraying anything large with Spies 480 hitec because the base dries too fast for the small fan. My go to base guns are my ls400 for whites and any fine metallics and my sata 5500 1.2rp as a workhorse for anything else

This is not the cup it comes with. This gun is basically the Bellaria. The KIWAMI4-BA4J is what you have here, and it was build for both Base and Clear, but it's much better for Clear. As a matter of a fact, my favorite Clear coat gun. The baseline pressure is 29 PSI. He flows the air (consumes less due to cap) different then Devilbiss guns. I have my setup at the wall, and the setting for this gun is different than for other guns even if you wanted same PSI. You need to setup each gun separately even using same hose, and gauges. Btw, great videos as always.

Basically the same as a bellaria, cap and nozzle other than the threads on the air cap ring are the same and interchangeable, needle is the same just shortened a little bit, really decent gun.

Can you do some videos on prep work jobs start to finish? Maybe include doing seam sealer how you color match from the very start from doing spray outs, fixing any chips and scratches feathering out etc all the way to paint work

You really are a master of the trade. The way you adapt to all guns and lay down an amazing finish is so nice to watch thank you Gunman..
I have only been spraying wood and the odd boat x 3 car x 2 and bike x 2 for 28 years from a mat finish to full gloss buffed, but you your work and uploads for me to learn more is so nice as it still apply s to my work you are the boss in laying down a wet product..

Hey gunni I feel the same way about ppg. Standox or glasirut for me. Even baslac for those cheaper jobs although it needs a good bake. 👍 Also the torri looks mint.

Good timing… I had one of these in my Amazon cart yesterday, hesitant to purchase it. I’ll watch and see now before clicking order. Thanks

Woulda been nice to talk more about the gun than a clear most people won't use

Ive had mine about a year now, sprayed base, clear, singlestage, metallics, candies, epoxy primer, all worked well, just different psi but i pretty much leave the fan as wide without losing the flat football pattern, only on the clear do i bring it in a tad, the eastwood 2k primer is too thick for the 1.4 so use a different gun, trick is to definitely take it apart and clean it when changing materials running thru it, the needle had wider 4 on it for some reason, but i love the gun, but i paint motorcycle mostly so the narrow fan doesnt kill me and i use a small compressor as well

Great video as always Gunny, the Kiwami 4 is quite hard to get hold of here in the UK a friend of mine here has to order his from Japan and he has just about got all of them but he loves them for the price as they lay the paint down nice and are well made.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts👏🙏👍John UK

Does my old Iwata W-400 classic plus count for a reasonable gun?, $200 from chashies with a 1.3 tip

I picked up a Kiwami (2nd hand) but it's a siphon feed pot! I haven't even had a chance to give it a try. It was too cheap not to grab.

I personally have run away from PPG as fast as I could. Dupont solvent Chromabase has worked well for me. Top it off with whatever clear fits the budget.
