I wonder if the tomb of Genghis Khan monument doing nothing is a reference to the fact it hasnt ever been found?

I would love to see more of you playing the Byzantines. Watching you play them was very fun to watch!

This mod is cool af! I'd love to see Byzantines, Majapahit, Scotland, Tunis, Novgorod, Inca, Bohemia, and Huastec runs. I'd also like to see Creek if the NA native mechanics are developed enough for the mod.

Amsterdam having the lvl 4 tradecenter at 1444 is really historical inaccurate. Amsterdam back then was only a local tradecity, being overshadowed by many other Dutch towns/cities and espcially by the Flemish towns like Antwerp and Brugge. Only in the 16th century it would develop into a regional and eventually a world trading center, but definitely not in 1444 already.

If based off Beyond Typhus, the reason development is so high is because they doubled average dev but halved the effects each individual development has (both to have greater dev gradients and to nerf dev cost reduction stacking)

The Russian/Novgorodian distinction is actually quite accurate. The democracy and northern sea trade traditions of Novgorod are nothing like the Muscovite Principalities.

Continuing w this mod is a must tho
Roleplay or not doesn't matter

Considering how prevalent mercenary armies were to warfare it feels pretty intersting seeing the AI having small armies and relying a lot on mercenaries

Actually Novgorod dialect of medival Russian was significantly different from Moscow and Kiev dialects. In fact Moscow and Kiev dialects where closer to each other than to Novgorodian at least till Mongolian invasion. Conquering of Novgorod significantly changed Russian language in principality of Moscow

I think the lack of manpower and troops is done to represent the reliance on mercenaries in europe at the time. Rather than professional armies it forces the more historical route instead which is pretty cool

8:21 Ackchually Novgorodian dialect at the time was completely different from the rest of Russia dialects. So different that some linguists consider to separate it not only as a different language, but as a distinct North-Slavic-kinda language family

Novgorod language at that time was actually quite distinct from Moscovaty in fact if it was not for conquest of Novgorod and various purges by Ivan the Terrible it was at verge of becoming forth part of Eastern Slavic family group language along side with Belarusian, Ukrainian and Russian. Also they were never conquered by Mongols and it did leave big cultural mark on Novgorod as well. Simple example might be Veche council institution going back to times of Kievan Rus which derived from elders council of Slavic Tribes in area and it was disbanded by mongols everywhere in Russian region they came across and appointed princes who would have absolute authority in the name of great Khan however it never happened in Novgorod and they still have Veche at beginning of Eu4 making it not forgotten almost 500 year old tradition at 15 century.

I’d love a roleplay series of this mod! Maybe as Romania claiming the mantle of the Byzantines?
