Iraq has not had a functioning government in nine months, no budget has been passed this year, and the signs of neglect and absence of public spending are visible in Baghdad.
Muqtada al-Sadr, an influential Shia Muslim leader, has called for a new election, but Iraq's Sunni and Kurdish minorities, too, are frustrated with the political upheaval and what many are saying is an ineffective central government.
Al Jazeera's Dorsa Jabbari reports from Baghdad.
