I really recommend this movie. The end is a real masterpiece, the best ending by far.

It's appauling to compare this masterpiece with the Netflix version. The anime, after a while, was stretching the story to make more money out of the series instead of trying to be coherent.

Fun Fact! The actor who plays L in the movies, Ken'ichi Matsuyama, already has experience in the Death Note series, as he provided the Japanese voice of Gelus in the anime.

This movie was actually pretty good. 1 and 2 have plot twists added in the end that aren't in the manga which is really creative imo.
L change the world is just okay I guess.

Death Note is the only anime I’ve ever watched( and I’ve watched a lot anime is my favorite form of art) in which I genuinely prefer the Dub over the Sub. And they got the same voice actors!!! I literally never watch live action foreign films dubbed because it’s so jarring where as animation can have mouth flaps fixed and work the voice acting around the animation. However this will be the first one I watch dubbed by myself because I love these voice actors they killed it. Any other dubbed anime as good as Death Note? I hated AoT dub and thought the Code Geass dub was mid at best if that helps recommending me some. Thanks in advance

I want so bad for Viz or whoever currently owns the rights to the 2006 Death Note movie & it's 2 sequels to re-release the entire trilogy in theaters so as to help everybody instantly forget that the infamous Netflix adaptation exists.

This Japanese live-action adaptation and both its sequels are infinitely superior to the trainwreck Netflix
