Hilo Hawaii | Walking the Big Island

Here's a fun walk through Hilo, Hawaii on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Hilo is the largest settlement in Hawaii County, Hawaii, which encompasses the Island of Hawaiʻi. The population was 44,186 according to the 2020 census, it's the fourth-largest settlement in the state of Hawaii and the largest settlement in the state outside of Oahu.

The city overlooks Hilo Bay, and has views of two shield volcanoes, Mauna Loa, an active volcano, and Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano. Hilo is home to the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, ʻImiloa Astronomy Center, the Merrie Monarch Festival, and the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation, one of the world's leading producers of macadamia nuts! I used to live in Hilo in the 1970’s went to Hilo High ah the old memories everything looks the same I just miss visiting my deceased parents so all you young people please take care of your parents and enjoy them and visit them as often as you can as time goes by without you ever realizing it’s 50 years gone by

I was fortunate to be stationed at Pearl Harbor in 1980. I can't afford to travel anymore but when I could, Hawaii was my favorite destination. My last trip was to the Big Island. I remember walking Hilo and still have a favorite t-shirt I bought at a local thrift store.

I was there visiting my sister and my nieces and brother in law in 23 I was at the market to such a cool pace Hawaii is so beautiful unlike any place I’ve seen or been before i got to be there for 2wks I didn’t want to leave

I've always wanted to visit Hilo, and this video gave me a taste of what it's like to stroll through this charming Hawaiian town. The architecture is stunning, and the local markets and shops look like they have so much to offer. Can't wait to visit one day! 🌺🌴

Hilo definitely looks like a beautiful place that I want to visit. But, I can't help but shed a tear for my beautiful Maui Front St. that my wife and I have visited many times. Now, in our 70s, we pray that Front St. will be restored to its magnificent glory once again.
