HOW TO REMOVE PS5 PLATES! IT DOESN'T GET EASIER THAN THIS!

The first time removing the plates was scary because the hooks were *very* stiff. Perhaps this is something unique to digital editions. But I haven't seen anyone mentioning this yet.

I struggled really hard because I was using so much force that I could see the plates bending and they still wouldn't budge. That initial removal took about the amount of force to snap a chopstick in half (which is a daunting amount to exert on a $400+ product that's impossible to replace). All subsequent times that I removed the sides, they came off easily. So if you're confused like I was by everyone else saying how easy it was, your console might just be latched on extra tight from the factory.

Other tips... Remove the base first if your PS5 is set up vertical. The base pad blocks the path of the plates coming off. Also, positioning of your hands or orientation of the PS5 isn't that important since both sides come off. Just make sure whatever side you're grasping is being pulled toward you while also pushing downward to the end where the vertical support base would be mounted.

Okay so I really struggled putting it back on, but I got it after almost an hour…you need to place the pallet on top of the ps5 and as you slide it in and you feel the hooks are in place you then start to put the pressure of your body wight on to it as you push against the pallet!!! You need to put the pressure on as you start to slide it in..don’t put it into place then push do it as you push into place!!! I hope this helps someone else 😅

Just saw this video. Do you have to take the plates off to dust it? I only dust the area around and the outside of my ps5. Will doing this prolong my ps5 lifespan?
