I’ve seen other videos that instead into the last bar instead of the middle bar. What is the difference?

I am using this stitch in Ice, Lana Bella, in browns, self striping. It is gorgeous, but the roving style wool, is making me go much slower. Easy pattern to remember, until it comes to ending the row and starting the next row. For some reason, I have to come back, every time I start a new row! I guess it is my old age kicking in.
