Spot on comment from the woman who put Starbucks and McDonalds in the same group.  Love, love, love small coffee roasters because they see the coffee bean as a gift to be savoured, not a bean simply to make you rich.

After you roast coffee beans its best to let them sit for at least an hour, or 24 hours for the best cup, to let the gasses vent. I'm not sure why they believe rushing roasted coffee beans directly to the grinder would improve the taste. I love Starbucks coffee but they burn the hell out of their beans to give it that distinct taste so maybe it doesn't make a difference.

I love Starbucks, I use their various beans in my coffee machine at work, don't care it cost's more for the beans, the cheaper coffee just doesn't taste as good. As a coffee lover I can taste the difference, but most people who do not drink coffee often, will not notice it that quick..
